REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING
FOR AN ALCOHOL PERMIT
Have the following items ready before starting

This permit is in compliance with the South Brunswick Township Code Sec. 6-81. - Possession or consumption prohibited.

  1. If you are serving alcohol at an event on a township owned property, you must have HOST LIQUOR LIABILTIY INSURANCE ready to attach to this application. The Certificate of Liability Insurance should include the following detail, the policy coverage date, Host Liquor Liability coverage, minimum $1,000,000 coverage, Certificate Holder as Township Clerk, South Brunswick Township, 540 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852. For any questions regarding this insurance you may email Insurance@sbtnj.net.
  2. If you are charging a fee for this event by way of a ticket, entrance fee or fundraiser you will be require to obtain a Social Affairs Permit / Catering Permit from the Division of ABC and must qualify for that as well. You can find details on that at the Division of ABC Website.
  3. Submit the fee of $25.00. You can now pay by credit card or e-check. For credit cards a fee of 2.65% of the total amount due with a minimum fee of $1.50 will be assessed and paid directly to the credit card processor (this is not refundable). To pay by eCheck there is a flat fee of $1.50 paid directly to the check processor (this is not refundable). If you prefer to send a check for the fee, it can be made payable to South Brunswick Township and mailed to South Brunswick Township, Health Department - Licensing, P.O. Box 190, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852. Please note your application will NOT be processed until we receive the online payment, a check or payment in the mail or at the counter in the Clerk’s Office. THE APPLICATION TAKES APPROXIMATELY 1-2 WEEKS FOR PROCESSING. IF A STATE PERMIT IS ALSO REQUIRED IT WILL TAKE APPROXIMATELY 3-4 WEEKS.
