REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING
FOR A KENNEL, PETSHOP, POUND OR SHELTER LICENSE
Have the following items ready before starting
1. First time applicant must attach a SKETCH: Show size of lot, easements, location of present existing and proposed kennel, pet shop, shelter or pound buildings; also show location of existing and adjacent sewage devices or sub-surface drains, streams, brooks, wells or waterways.
2. Submit the application fee of $25.00 for 11 or more dogs or $10.00 for 10 or less dogs for Kennel, $10.00 for Pet shop, and no fee for Shelter or Pound. You can now pay by credit card or e-check. For credit cards a fee of 2.65% of the total amount due with a minimum fee of $1.50 will be assessed and paid directly to the credit card processor (this is not refundable). To pay by eCheck there is a flat fee of $1.50 paid directly to the check processor (this is not refundable). If you prefer to send a check for the fee, it can be made payable to South Brunswick Township and mailed to South Brunswick Township, Clerk’s Department - Licensing, PO Box 190, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852. Please note your application will NOT be processed until we receive the check or payment in the mail or at the counter in the Clerk’s Office.

ALL LICENSES EXPIRE ON JUNE 30th OF THE LICENSE YEAR. RENEWAL APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN 30 DAYS BEFORE EXPIRATION OF THE LICENSE.
THE APPLICATION TAKES APPROXIMATELY 2-4 WEEKS FOR PROCESSING.
